Center’s GoFundMe campaign

Just posted an update to the Center’s GoFundMe campaign.  The Center has agreed to be fiscal agent for WILPF Fresno centenary exhibit at the Madden Library, California State University, Fresno.  This way we can receive checks from their members to help fund the exhibit.

Earth Day at Radio Park

After a late start because of the beautiful rain, we set up our Center booth with the help of Gerry, Ron and Gioia.  We had no trouble attracting kids (and adults!) to our coloring a butterfly project – and what great butterfly artists emerged.  The reward was a packet of milkweed seeds to plant in their gardens and education about the plight of the Monarch butterfly.  A big thank you to Kay Pitts for painting butterflies on the corners of 20 poster boards and for all the work that Gioia did on this activity.  We plan to put the artwork . . . → Read More: Earth Day at Radio Park

Earth Day event – April 25. Save the Monarch!

We will have a table at the Earth Day event on Saturday from 10-4 being held at Radio Park – 1st and Clinton.  An exciting hands-on activities for kids (or kid like adults!) will be painting butterflies on to poster board – and for their trouble they will get a packet of milkweed seeds to plant in their gardens.  Could we lose the Monarch Migration in our Lifetime?  Yes!  They are at 97% fewer than at their recorded height and 50 % less than last year.

Dr. Richard Falk speaks on the Palestinian Struggle

FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2015 at Peters Business Building 191  3:30-5:00 p.m. Dr. Richard Falk will speak on “The Question of Apartheid and the Palestinian Struggle to End the Occupation.”.  Dr.  Falk is professor emeritus of international law at Princeton University, as well as at UC Santa Barbara.  He is the author or co-author of 20 books and the editor or co-editor of another 20 volumes.  In 2008, Dr. Falk was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to a six-year term as a UN Special Rapporteur on “the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.”
