Sunday, December 9 in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m. A return engagement of the Rent Event Holiday Gala will be held at The Voice Shop, 1296 N. Wishon in the Tower District. The afternoon program will showcase well-known local performers Bryan Medina (the outstanding performance poet and creator of Inner Ear Open Mic Poetry Jams); Kristie Francis (singer/songwriter and well-received Rogue entertainer); Avigdar Adams (whose varied song repertoire has been displayed at the Rogue and other venues); and Cory Zamora (the Valley’s premier Middle Eastern dancer). Also featured will be excerpts from Richard Stone’s new work “Tales from the Senior Express” (in a format stolen from “The Canterbury Tales”) to be read by Richard and his cohorts Ken Butler, Linda Haymond and Isabel Mejorado.
Doors will open at 3 p.m. A $5-10 donation will be requested at the door.
