 Wednesday,  July 11th 3 to 3:30 p.m.  Fresno Center for Nonviolence monthly radio show on KFCF 88.1 FM  will be hosted by Angela Price.  Her guests will be Michael Black Bull and Jim Grant and they will be discussing the film the Center will be showing this month “The Doctrine of Discovery, Unmasking the Domination Code.”  This is a call-in show so if you have questions call the station at 559-266-8888. 

Thursday, July 12th at 1:30 p.m. at the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, 1584 N. Van Ness Ave., Fresno The powerful and landmark documentary “The Doctrine of Discovery, Unmasking the Domination Code” will be shown.  Following the film will be a discusImage result for film the doctrine of discovery: unmasking the domination codesion led by Jim Grant,  who directs the Social Justice Ministry for the Diocese of Fresno,  and Michael Black Bull, who lectured on American Indian history at Fresno City College.   Christopher Columbus and other colonizers laid claim to the lands of original nations on the basis of the idea that Christians had a biblical right to discover and dominate non-Christian lands.  This doctrine of ancient Christendom, supported by papal edicts, continues to serve as the conceptual foundation of the political and legal system of the United States.  The film calls upon the Holy See at the Vatican to revoke the papal decrees that set into motion the domination system, and points out that the values and teachings of original nations are a sacred path for all Life.  The film is free and open to the public.  Wheelchair accessible.  For more information call the Center at 559-237-3223 Mon-Fri 11-3.
