The Center maintains a Fair Trade program which includes organic coffee, baking & drinking cocoa, green teas and chocolate bars from the interfaith program of Equal Exchange.
Our coffees include French Roast, Café Salvador, Love Buzz and our newest coffee “Organic Sister’s Blend”. With this special blend, we honor women coffee farmers who are active in their cooperatives and women in the U.S., who advocate for Fair Trade. We also stock organic hot chocolate and baking cocoa and for all chocolate lovers we have a great selection of chocolate bars, including Panama Extra Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate and Chocolate Caramel Crunch.
All coffees are $8.50 each, except for Decaf and Sister’s Blend which are $9.00. Tea is $4.00, hot chocolate and baking cocoa $7.00 and our chocolate bars are $3.00 each.
We buy our fair trade products from Equal Exchange because they created a different path to the market – one that brings farmers closer to you, and delivers more of your dollars to their communities. They do this by partnering with small-scalefarmer co-ops that are democratically organized, which means they make
decisions on their terms. Fair trade is a way of doing business that ultimately
aims to keep small farmers an active part of the world marketplace, and aims to
empower consumers to make purchases that support their values.
