Saturday, December 8 in the afternoon 3 – 5 p.m. Our Center for Nonviolence is joining many other organizations and local churches in celebrating the 64th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the College Community Congregational Church, 5550 Fresno St. Speaker Professor Marjorie Cohn will talk on “Government Sanctioned Torture and Human Rights: What’s really going on and what can we do about it. “ She is a former president of the National Lawyers Guild and a professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she teaches criminal law and procedure, evidence, and international human rights law. She lectures throughout the world on human rights and US foreign policy. Her latest book “The United States and Torture” will be available for sale. Admission is free and open to the public.
