On Saturday, May 5th from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Community United Church of Christ, 5550 N. Fresno Street (between Bullard and Barstow): The Center for Nonviolence will celebrate its 26th Anniversary with keynote speaker, David Hartsough speaking on “Waging Peace:  Continuing our Commitment to the Struggle for Peace and Justice in the Trump Era.” David is co-founder of World Beyond War, and author of Waging Peace: Global Adventures of a Lifelong Activist. He writes that he has spent his life experimenting with the power of active nonviolence in an effort to live as though we were all brothers and sister.

We’ll also be giving our 2018 Way of Peace awards to  Ellen Bush, Reza Nekumanesh; youth awards to Yasmin Mendoza, Joanne Park and Elizabeth Grubb who organized the Fresno March for our Lives; and organization award to the new Veterans for Peace Fresno Chapter started by Joshua Shurley.
