Featuring Danny Glover and 84 year old Fidel Castro in key scenes, raises and tries to answer the question: what did Cuba do to deserve such hostile treatment? It traces key events from the Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis, through multiple assassination attempts on Fidel Castro’s life. This documentary reveals a story of violence that also echoed on the streets of Washington DC, New York and especially Miami where Cuban American critics of the bombers and shooters also wound up dead. 80 minutes.  Free to the public and wheelchair accessible. SOME OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS

Saturday, November 10 • 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cindy Sheehan to Speak at Peace March and Demonstration • Peace Fresno is excited to be bringing Cindy Sheehan back to Fresno on Saturday, November 10 for an antiwar demonstration at the Peace Corner (Shaw and Blackstone), a March to College Community Congregational Church 5550 N. Fresno Street and a Presentation by Cindy, about her experiences in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez, followed by Q & A.

• Cindy Sheehan founded Gold Star Mothers for Peace after her son, Casey, died during the Iraq War. The quintessential Occupier.
• The original Occupier, she set-up Camp Casey outside George W. Bush’s ranch in 2005.
• Originally, Cindy was a tax resister, now she is a tax refuser.

Since Cindy’s son Casey was killed in Iraq in April, 2004 she has traveled to Venezuela and Cuba several times. In her new book; she has tried to set the record straight about Hugo Chavez and to inspire action here in the United States.  The corporate media has demonized Hugo Chavez, but Cindy tells a different story—of a country that has been transformed and has empowered its people under Chavez’ leadership. Cindy sees the Occupy Movement here in the U.S. as a good model. She said, “Peace isn’t going to come from Congress but from the people.”

Cindy says, “Maybe there are little solutions that we could at least try.  The only answer to Globalization is Localization!”
