Saturday, August 8 at 7 p.m., the documentary “Ferguson:  Behind Occupied Territory, will be shown at the New Light for New Life Church of God, 1106 W. Woodward Ave., Fresno 93706. The church is located just north of California Avenue, between Teilman Ave. and S. West Ave.

It has been a year since Michael Brown was killed by Officer Darren Wilson, and youth-led protests in Ferguson continue to fuel a national movement against police brutality. The directors of this 55 minute video, Orlando de Guzman and Katina Parker, with Reporter/Narrator Tim Pool, turn to the residents of St. Louis County, Missouri, to tell us what it’s like to be racially profiled and under siege.  After the Department of Justice released a blistering report finding systematic racism and prejudice against blacks in the Ferguson Police Department, protests continued and the police chief and several Ferguson officials resigned. All are invited to attend the showing. The Fusion documentary is FREE, but donations will be welcome.
