Please use the link below to hear the Center’s radio show on KFCF 88.1 on October 12th about Native American issues.  Richard Gomez’ guests were Michael Black Bull who is on our Center’s Board and Dr. Marlon Sherman, Professor and Department Chair of Native American Studies at Humboldt University.  They talked a little about Native American treaties but mostly about the situation at Standing Rock, North Dakota where 5,000 plus Sioux tribes and supporters have gathered together to protest peacefully about the Dakota Access Pipeline which is a threat to their water and lands.  Except for Amy Goodman and Democracy Now (and I think Rachel Maddow) there has been no media coverage which is disgraceful.   You probably know that an arrest warrant has been issued for Amy Goodman.

If you listen to this radio show you will hear about ways that you can help them.  Mostly they need donations and they are asking for people to call their local television stations to ask why this situation is not being covered by them.  To learn more, you can log on to www.standingrock.org and www.rezpectourwater.c
