“ You say it’s your birthday;
well it’s my birthday too, yeah…”

Once more into the breach, for the month of May our radio show has as your host Joshua Shurley who will return with his guest Gerry Condon and Helen Jacard of the Golden Rule and Veterans for Peace once more. They will be discussing the topic of nuclear weapons and the recent (in January) U.N. policy of non-nuclear buildup. If you have any questions, please call the Center at 559-237-3223. Although when we are closed, we do pick up messages and
respond to them.

Last month’s radio show was hosted by Angela Price with her guest, Zeiad Abbas Shamrouch, Executive Director of the Middle East Children’s Alliance. He is a Palestinian refugee, a filmmaker, a journalist, and educator who has worked with Palestinian and international media and has participated in the production of several documentary films.

To hear it again

To Open Soon or not to Open Soon, that is the question.

And by an Open, we say to bring back our friends whom we have missed so much. Meetings, get together, events and strategy session so missed and needed in our nation today. It has been like a death we know not of where folks have been or have travelled to but to be forced to wait, thus, again. For whom are we to continue this Zooming of the in and out of time until even the minutes have faded away? Weather we have been pricked or injected not but once but even twice to scare away the Pandemic or at least until a new one arrives or not, does challenges the rules and force to say things that we rather not but for the protection of all who arrive. We welcome thee with open arms and faces masked a little longer for we never can be so sure that this unseen creature was sent or to be so cradled away for our good.

In other Words:
The Fresno Center for Nonviolence is now open. Fresno County has earned an orange color code for us to allow such gatherings. We will initially be opened on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11-3pm. Meetings will be allowed but all groups must abide by the safety protocols for everyone protection. We may have another re-re-reopening party and if by law or health protocols may have to rotate 10 people outside in the front, 10 inside in the Center and 10 people in the parking lot. All this has been decided by our Board for your protection and our
entertainment. You may note that this is an update to the Fresno Centers for Nonviolence page in the Community Alliance. We remind you that things may change again and again and again…. SPOILER ALERT.

Also, the law says that: WE MUST DENY ACCESS TO THOSE NOT HAVING BEEN VACCINATED, except for small children. So please be careful and if you cannot be careful, BE SAFE for your friends and family’s sakes.

Thank you for your patients. RG
