During our book sale in October, I learned of two 7Eleven stores who had a books program whereby children who came in would receive a used book and a promise of a slurpee if they would read it and come back with a written or verbal report!  We loved this idea and some of our left over children’s books were taken by Janice Romero-Nielsen to the two 7Eleven stores.

Since then, we have received word that these two stores are having a coat drive for Women, Men and Children – all sizes needed, either new or gently used for free distribution to those in need.

The two 7Eleven stores are:  Fruit and Clinton;  Chestnut and Church. (And don’t forget you get a free slurpee! Or, of course, a coffee or fountain!)

I know there are lots of groups out there collecting for poor families but these two stores seem really interested in  building community in their areas.
