Each 2nd Wednesday of the month the Center for Nonviolence shows a film
either at the Center itself (1584 N. Van Ness, Fresno) or at a larger venue
like a library if we are expecting more people to attend. We have showings at
12 noon and again at 7 p.m. (with a potluck at 6:30 p.m.). They are free to the
public and wheelchair accessible.

These films reflect the mission of our Center to introduce the ideas of nonviolence
and to explore the root causes of, and best antidote to violence. We show
documentaries on subjects like: capital punishment and prison problems; water
issues and climate change; animal cruelty; defense of human rights; and, of
course, the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We have shown the films “The Canary Effect”; “Rethink Afghanistan”; “Witness”;
“The Greatest Silence” ; “Pray the Devil Back to Hell”; “Forgiven”; “Gasland”;
“Dive” “What Would Jesus Buy” – to name a few.

Most of the films that have been in our 2nd Wednesday video series are
now in our Video/DVD library. You may borrow them for the small donation of
$2.00 each and keep them for a week. (We are still working on transferring
titles from our old website to our new one – so it’s best to call and ask at
559-237-3223 Mon-Fri 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
