Peace Pig news

The six-year old daughter of one of the our recent interns took home one of the Center’s “Peace Pigs”, decorated it, filled it from  piggy bank cash she already had  and returned it to the Center during its recent Board meeting.   I’m adding below two photos of Kaitlyn taken at that occasion.  When she handed the peace pig to me, I was flabbergasted! It was so full of coins that I’m not sure how she managed to carry it from the car and hold it for at least 10 minutes while I introduced her to the Board.

Caravan to Cuba event – July 7

On Thursday, July 7 a school bus will roll into Fresno, jammed with cargo and people, windows wide open for cooling, covered with colorful artwork showing its mission – Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba.  Some local people, including Gerry Bill and Leni V Reeves will be joining the many other Caravanistas traveling on 12 buses through Canada and the US.

Visit of traveling team of high school and college age students

Tuesday, July 12, at 7:30pm
Peace Fresno will host a discussion regarding the economics of war and its consequences with the traveling team of high school and college age students from the Martin Luther King Jr Freedom Center.  This will be held at the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, 1584 N.
